John Clark
	John was born in Bussleton in 1961 and spent his young life and school years living on Geographe Bay in Dunsborough, where his love of the coast first developed. He is the major seascape artist of the Broome 6.

This statement is reflected in John's artwork which depicts the varied coastal landscapes of this awesome part of the world.

The inspiration to paint surrounds John. The colours of the translucent turquoise ocean colliding with our Kimberley coast has given inspiration to explore different mediums such as hydro sheen inks, PVA glue, oils, acrylics and further combinations shows the passion that John feels towards the water and shore life.

John attended the Western Australian Institute of Technology in the early '80s gaining a Bachelor of Education-Visual Arts majoring in ceramics and painting. For the past 20 years John has spent his time living on the north west coast of Australia. In the mid-eighties an artist in residence, Ernie Turpin first inspired John from art teacher to artist. Exmouth's turquoise waters belonging to the coral coast have had a significant impact on the development of John's artwork. In fact he has made a habit of looking out for different ways to interpret the energy and spirituality of the ocean.

John now lives out at 12 Mile outside Broome where he has a plantation of Mango trees and is an art teacher at the Broome High School.
